PCE-MB-100 balance for moisture content
(maximum net weight of 100 g)for determining dry and moisture content in substances in the industrial and agricultural industries, with RS-232 interface
|
The PCE-MB-100 balance for measuring moisture is designed for the industrial sector and laboratories. This balance is ideal for quickly determining and recording the moisture content of the materials and their dry weight. User manual illustrates the full potential of the balance. The two irradiating halogen bulbs have a 200 W capacity and guarantee even drying of the material. All you have to do is to place a small sample in the chamber, close the lid, press the button and wait for the results. This balance can be used to analyse moisture content and also as a normal scale for accurate measuring in milligrammes.
|
There are three different ways to determine dry weight: |
- Automatic
Dry until a constant weight is obtained
- Semi-automatic
After drying, when the weight is lost, the
nominal value increases for each unit of time
- Manual
According to the time setting
The balance includes:
- RS-232 interface to transfer data (dry weight, weight lost, humidity, ATRO, residual weight) to a
computer
- External calibration function
- 240 V mains adaptor
|
Other characteristics:
- Easy to use
- Metal enclosure
- Durable halogen drying system
- ISO laboratory calibration (optional)
- Optional accessories: printer, aluminium test plates, round fibreglass filters and test weights |
With this balance, it is possible to accurately study the humidity content of a wide range of materials, such as plastic granules, pellets, wood pellets, fibres, tobacco, spices or cereal. Depending on the humidity content, the drying process can be completed in few minutes (the remains are residual water and dust).

Optional accessories
|
- Software
The software pack comes with RS-232 cable that allows transfer of data to a computer to store and
analyse it. This data can also be exported to other software such as Excel.
|
- RS-232 to USB adaptor
The software pack normally comes with an RS-232. If the data must be transferred from the balance to a
portable that only has a USB port, an adaptor should be used to make this connection possible. |
- Thermal printer
To print results as soon as they have been obtained, allowing for documentation to be sent to a supplier
to indicate the quantity of the received material.
The printer comes with RS-232 cable and a 240 V mains adaptor. It uses 112 mm wide paper that can be
ordered on the site. |
- Replacement aluminium test plates
The plates allow to spread sample correctly and furthermore reflect the heat to penetrate across the
plate. They can be cleaned and reused, depending on the tested material. They can also be used as
laboratory plates.
|
- Round fibreglass filters
100 round fibreglass filters for materials that might spatter or become encrusted. The filters have a
constant weight and are resistant to oscillations caused by air humidity.
They are also resistant to high temperature.
